The castle, mentioned in old documents in 1323, was rebuilt in the first half of the 16th century into a residence by duke Henry II of Münsterberg-Oels. About 1680, Duke Christian Ulrich II of Wür ttemberg-Wilhelminenor t added the third floor, constructed the gate, and founded the gardens. In the 18th century the castle was neglected, in 1886 the eastern wing was dismantled. Until the present, only the southern wing has been preserved. There is a Baroque portal with the coat of arms of the Württemberg-Oels dukes. Of the eastern wing, the tower has been preserved, which was constructed at the beginning of the 14th century, and heightened in 1622. The Baroque gate from about 1680 is an entrance to the courtyard.
